How it works

A quick video to explain everything you need to know before escaping (no spoilers!)

One ticket per team

Whether you’re playing at home or online, your team will only need 1 ticket. We recommend up to 6 players, but there’s no limit so this is entirely up to you!

Buy now, play later

Your code won’t expire so you can start whenever you’re ready. The game also saves your progress so you can complete your escape over a couple of sessions if you prefer.

The digital backpack

This unique feature allows you to sync your phone or tablet with the game, so everyone can investigate clues independently. Super handy for team work!

FAQs

Purchasing

As soon as your purchase goes through, you'll automatically receive two emails:-

1 x receipt confirming your payment
1 x Order email containing your unique 16-digit license code

When you're ready to play simply click the 'Launch Game' button and follow the on-screen instructions as the game loads.

Once you reach the main menu, you can begin your game using the 'Start New Game' button. You will then be asked for your license code. Copy and paste it from your order email into the box (don't forget the dashes) and you'll be off on your escape!

*If you can't find your order email, please check your spam and promotions folders.
If you have your order number but no game code mail please use the retrieval block at the bottom of this page.

If you think you may have mistyped your email address or have purchased with a payment method connected to an email you cannot access, please contact us using the contact form below and we will resend it for you.

License codes are emailed automatically as soon as your order is processed. Please check your spam and other folders to make sure it hasn't found its way in there. Gmail and Hotmail are particularily prone to putting these emails into random folders! It's worth searching 'Wolf Escape Games' in your inbox.

If you paid by Apple Pay, Google Pay or Shop Pay, the email will go to the address linked to your payment account.

If you still can't find it, the quickest way to get it re-sent is to use the licence code retrieval block at the bottom of this page.

If you no longer have access to the email it has been sent to, or have mistyped your email address, please contact us via the contact form below and we'll get back to you asap.

Yes! The easiest way to do this is with one of our lovely gift cards. You can send a message and decide on what day and time the card will arrive. Easy peasy!

Your code will not expire until you complete your escape! You can start the game whenever you are ready. You can even play across multiple sessions and the game will save your progress. There's absolutely no time limit so take as long as you need.

You only need one ticket for your whole team!

Whether you're playing at home or online, everyone will have access to the Digital Backpack on their own device so they can investigate clues independently. The game will help you set all this up.

We recommend teams of 2-6 but really it's up to you. There's no limit. 😊

If you're trying to purchase on your phone the checkout screen will not show the discount box by default. To enter your code tap the 'show order summary,' which is at the top of the payment screen. Paste your code in there, apply and you're all set.

Yes! If you're looking to play one of our games with a lot of players for a corporate event please reach out to support@wolfescapegames.com and we can create a bespoke set up for you.

Tech Specs

TO PLAY THE GAME
+ A desktop, laptop (Mac or PC) or Chromebook computer
+ Google Chrome, Firefox and Edge browser (please note, we cannot currently support Safari)
+ Good internet connection
+ Recommended download speed of at least 10Mbps

TO HOST A GAME VIA VIDEO CHAT
+ A video chat platform which allows screen & audio sharing - We recommend Zoom or Google Meet
+ A recommended upload speed of at least 2.5Mbps.

How do I test my internet speed?
If you're not sure how good your internet connection is just type 'internet speed test' into Google and run speed test.

You'll need a PC or Mac computer to play the game but a lot of people do stream it to their TV over wi-fi, using Apple TV, Chromecast (or similar) or a good old HDMI cable.

This is a really fun way to do it because you can get the benefit of the bigger screen and audio.

Laptop to TV streaming set-ups will vary depending on your type of computer and TV but, if you can stream a regular website from your computer to the TV, you can stream the game ;-)

We also have a digital backpack system which lets everyone examine the clues on their phones / tablets, which is very handy for puzzle solving.

No, to play the main game you need to use a desktop or laptop computer. You can use Mac or PC as long as you use a Chrome, Firefox or Edge browser.

The game is not currently compatible with iPads or tablets.

Our games are designed to work on the average, up to date laptop. You don't need a super computer to play! If you're planning an event and want to make sure your set-up is compatible, we've created a demo level* that you can access from the main menu to double check everything is running smoothly before you begin.

If you have any technical difficulties please check the 'technical issues' section below. If you can't find a solution just let us know via the contact form. If we can't get you up and running we'll refund you in full.

*Demo level is currently only available for Hallows Hill

Playing

We designed the games to be easy to play over any video chat platform which allows screen and audio sharing (Zoom, Google Meet, Teams etc)

Here's how you play remotely:

- Buy one game for your whole team

- Pick one person to be 'host' who will load the game. It’s helpful if the host’s internet speed is stable!
- The host loads up the game on their computer using the link on the purchase email, then shares their screen and audio with the rest of the team.

You will be walked through this, step-by-step, at the start of the game.

All team members also have access to the digital backpack app, which allows everyone to explore clues and objects on their own devices / phones - super helpful for online teams!

For the team members who aren't clicking the buttons and hosting the game (especially those playing over video chat) we've created a Digital Backpack. Once the game loads you'll be shown how they can open it on their own phone, tablet or computer browser tab. The backpack updates in real-time with the clues that you find along the way so that everyone can investigate them at their own pace.

The Digital Backpack will work on most android and IOS devices as well as your computer browser.

We've given our games a PG-13, meaning there's no violence, adult themes, or gory scenes. The dialogue may include a few mild swear words, but only within the boundaries of age-appropriate content.

The puzzles can be quite challenging, even for grown-ups, so we always recommend children play with an adult who can provide guidance.

Hallows Hill is more on the spooky side than outright scary, so should be no problem for kids who won't be unsettled by a ghostly tale or a bit of a jump scare.

However, we've had many escapees from 11+ and hundreds of great reviews from families who've played together. Our Trustpilot page is a good place to get the lowdown direct from players!

*Please note that Hallows Hill contains references to historical practices of Spiritualism and features a section involving a Ouija board.

Yes, you can absolutely play solo if you fancy the challenge. We recommend getting the headphones on, dimming the lights and diving in!

The game saves your progress as you go so if you need to take a break to make a cocktail, put the kids to bed, or just calm your nerves, you can close it down and pick up where you left off at a later date. Once your escape is complete however, you won't be able to go back inside.

No, each code is for a single play-through of the game. We've designed it to work much like a real life escape room in this way. Although there are a few 'choose your adventure' elements inside the game, the puzzles and main gameplay stay the same.

If you loved Hallows Hill and Miami Bay and crave some more, fear not! We are planning on making another game for release in 2024!

Troubleshooting

Please double check you have copied and pasted the code correctly, including the dashes, without any extra spaces. If that doesn't work try typing out the code rather than pasting it. Remember, it is case sensitive.

If you're still having trouble, please contact us via the contact form below and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.

If you've double checked all the tech specs listed above then the best thing to do is to switch browsers. You can use Chrome, Edge or Firefox, whichever you aren't already using.

You can also switch to incognito or private mode on your current browser.

99% of the time this will get you back on your way. If not, here are some additional steps to try:

+ Double check your internet connection. (If your connection is extremely slow the game can take up to 10 minutes to initially load so please be patient).
+ Give your browser the most memory available by closing all other tabs, browsers and background apps.
+ If possible, try loading the game on a different computer

If you still have trouble, please contact us using the form below, inlcuding either your order number or game license code, and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.

If we can't get you started we'll refund you in full.

Glitches are rare but they can happen. These two steps will fix 99% of issues:-

1. Switch to a different compatible browser. You can use Chrome, Edge or Firefox, whichever you aren't already using.

Simply load up the game in the new browser window, select 'continue game', paste in your code and you'll be back to where you left off.

2. You can also try switching to 'incognito' or 'private' browsing mode. You can find this option in your browser menu by going to 'File'.

We also recommend closing as many other browser tabs and background apps as you can to give the game the most memory possible.

Please also note - the game is not supported on the Safari browser. You may not realise you are using it and everything will be going fine until you suddenly get a black or frozen screen! In the event of this happening please switch to Chrome, Firefox or Edge and you should be fine to continue.

Very occasionally glitches are caused by a more fundamental hardware conflict between the game and your computer. This can happen on older machines especially. If changing browsers isn't fixing your issue, please try playing the game on a different machine if you are able to.

If you're still having issues please contact us via the contact form below. If we can't get you up and running we'll refund you in full.

If you're sure that your computer covers all the tech specs above then you should expect smooth video playback. If this is not the case, it is usually a browser settings conflict, not anything to do with your internet speed.

This is usually fixed by switching browsers. You can use Chrome, Edge or Firefox, whichever you aren't already using.

Simply load up the game in the new browser window, select 'continue game', paste in your code and you'll be back to where you left off.

You can also try switching to 'incognito' or 'private' browsing mode.

These two steps will fix 99% of issues but if that doesn't improve things and you're sure that your internet connection is fast and consistent, then it could be a hardware conflict that is causing problems. This is very rare but it can happen. If changing browsers isn't fixing your issue, please try playing the game on a different machine if you are able to.

If you're still having issues please contact us via the contact form below. If we can't get you up and running we'll refund you in full.
